     When people would ask me this question, I would, much to their dismay, say everything. That's not what people want to hear, but it's true. Some trends are so far ahead and some are so far behind that all styles are meshing and colliding, but why would you want to do what everyone else is doing anyways? Are you stuck in the middle?
     Nowadays, when it's finally okay and even cool to step out of the box, the branches on the tree of fashion are growing and sprouting further and further away from the roots.

     So, to answer this question, you now have to factor in handfuls of details.
     What is your career? Are you business, casual, or 'fun' at your job?
     What is your identity? Before you can fall into a style sense, most likely you'll first belong to a style of people. Are you rock-a-billy, goth, or steampunk or are you suit, corporate, or soccer mom.
     What is your budget? Before you can decide what to really choose as your style, you have to make sure you can upkeep it for a comfortable price. Having short punky haircuts or seriously bold colors require frequent trips to the salon and some decent product purchases.

     Currently, our celebrities are going with smooth, elegant styles with rich, vibrant colors. Always remember that hair fashion goes along with clothing fashion.
     What are the celebrities wearing? They are wearing clean cut suits and flowingly elegant dresses. Think of the 80's when poke-a-dots and neon plastic accents were in. Hair was wild, huge, and messy.

     To truly answer the question of what's in, I'd have to say look at the most commonly requested and seen look, the easy to self maintain and cost effective, straight with highlights.
