Brunettes
Ranging from rich chocolate browns to subtle heathers, brunettes have flourished in beauty and fashion as stand out icons. The deep contrasts that accent facial features, give brunette colors their appeal. Plus, their volumesque hair strands are plumped full of rich brown color, which allows them to stand out among limp, lifeless hair styles.
Whether your beautiful hue is natural or colored, keep it conditioned and shining. Use color safe cleansing products and a good leave-in or shine spray.
Keep your color true!
First of all, don't use a clarifying shampoo unless you have an issue with product buildup: (hair spray, mousse). In most cases, you can do a double wash with a color safe shampoo.'Rinse, Repeat' is not just for explaining monotonous situations. It really does do wonders. Try it out sometime.
Condition your hair. Think of a rich and gooey chocolatey brownie. That rich brown color is more delicious when it is moist right?
Do a few low-lights instead of highlights. You'll still get the contrast in tones in your hair without having to use a bleach/lightener to lift the tones out.
If you NEED highlights, then do both. You'll still get the tonal range that your looking for while doing less highlights.
And Yes, if your hair is colored, you MUST LIFT it out with a bleach based lightener or similarly harsh chemical.
Quote:
"Gentlemen prefer blondes... but gentlemen marry brunettes." ---Anita Loos Myth:
Brunettes have healthier hair.
It tends to be easier for a brunette to have healthier hair due to each hair strand being thicker than blonde hair, which prevents it from tangling as easily as blonde hair. Thicker hair strands are less vulnerable to breakage, but it all depends on how easy you are to your hair. Everything in moderation; don't over color, overly use hot tools, or physically stress the hair. Keep in mind, while brushing, that your hair is more susceptible to snap when wet.
True of False:
In trendy magazine polls, men said that brunettes come off as being more intelligent. Here's the Answer : TRUE
Educate Me:
Brunette colors are created when hair contains predominantly Eumelanin. Eumelanin is one of the two types of melanin.Melanin determines skin color, hair color, and eye color, in humans, and the amount of melanin that your body produces depends on your genes.
The underlying color of brown is red, and then gold, and then yellow. When trying to lift brown for highlights, these stages of color must all be lifted out to create a beautifully contrasting blonde tress.
Men with dark hair are called brunette's too! Although the spelling is different, spelled brunet, the pronunciation is the same. These are merely feminine and masculine spellings of the word that originaes from the French word for brown, "brun."
